About Me

The D-Lynquent Mindz production house is a fusion of experiences, talent and vision of two of Jamaica’s most gifted and experienced young producers. Dirk Rose and Dean Mundy bring a refreshing sense of energy and creativity to the D-Lynquent Mindz outfit. Though Dirk and Dean have opposing experiences and personalities, their complimentary talents and shared vision set the stage for extraordinary musical results.

On completion of his formal musical training in New York, Dirk returned to Jamaica taking up a position at Richie Stephen’s Pot of Gold studio. Working as both a writer and engineer, Dirk lent his talents to countless hits by Bounty Killer, Copper Cat, General Degree, Vegas and others. Capitalizing on his talents, Dirk produced the Kurfew “riddim” which stirred a round of controversy for the politically sensitive track and certified underground hit Long, Plain and Straight.

Dean was born in music, dabbling in various aspects of the business before securing a fulltime position at age 16. A protégé of Tony ‘CD’ Kelly, Dean worked with Penthouse Records then Shocking Vibes Production before independently producing and releasing his Suicide “riddim” project. Over the course of his career, Dean has worked with a diverse range of artistes and producers including: Beenie Man, Buju Banton, Wayne Wonder, The Wu Tang Clan, Germaine Dupri and Jimmy Jam (of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis fame).
Creative, talented and unconventional, the innovators responsible for D-Lynquent Mindz had been operating with independent careers for years. When they finally met in 2002, it wasn’t long before they realized that they shared a vision. “Actually D-Lynquent Mindz started before we even met,” declares Dirk. “We’ve been called delinquents in our individual lives because we don’t conform to some things.”
Dirk and Dean have an extraordinary eye for talent; and their gaze is keenly focused on Aisha Davis. A triple threat – singer, songwriter and dancer – Aisha’s powerful voice reverberates and soothes simultaneously. The stirring and poignant Shed Those Tears is the first release of the D-Lynquent/Aisha collaboration. Internationally, the scope of their work extends to New York, where production house Urban Kultcha, has tapped the D-Lynquents to produce a compilation album which features Buju Banton, Mad Cobra, Red Rat, and Kiprich.
D-Lynquent Mindz is a complete production entity with expertise is writing, composing and producing musical tracks for artistes, commercial jingles and television and film synchronization, talent representation and production management.
