I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

"Travelers, there is no path, paths are made by walking"
Antonio Machado (Spanish Poet and Playwright, 1875-1939)

I am a self-taught artist out of upstate NY, influenced by the likes of Roger Dean and Salvidore Dali, but I try not to imitate anyone.
Most of my current work is posted in my PICS section.
Like many artists (musicians included) I have to eat so I recently sold my soul back to "the man" after spending the last three years playing Mr. Mom and doing some random tech work when the need called.
Shortly after my wife had completed nursing school five years ago, we found out that our plan to only have two kids had been foiled. Fate dictated that we were to have a son in the house, breaking my family curse. "Curse?", you ask? I come from a proper Catholic family of ten kids, nine of them were girls. I think my dad is just happy that I came out straight, even if he shudders at my slightly left-of-center attitudes, to quote a friend of mine. My wife, on the other hand, knows my mind on such issues but somehow I don't think she appreciated my twisted humor when I said that we should keep having kids until she breaks... which is a moot point these days since the doc capped off her plumbing after our son was born.
In the early part of this millennium I managed a band called BLA (Born Leaders Anonymous) consisting of Jim Lomonaco (YoLK), Matt Murphy (YoLK), Mike Burrell (YoLK's early incarnations, Staple) and Phil McGovern (One Minute More).
BLA!!
In my *spare* time I draw, paint funky works of art, practice with stop-motion animation and make indie music videos... among other artistic endeavors.

My old website (artformusicians.com) is now defunct. The new site is RavensRockStudios.net - based on the Macdonell of Glengarry motto - and for me, a badge of honor, even if I have not met my true Scottish clansmen.
What's YOUR Zombie Plan???
OK, a note about my comments section. I don't do the required approval thing but I do keep an eye on comments here. Basically, I won't advertise on your page, so I don't expect that you will advertise on my page. Since I work with bands I'm pretty liberal about bands posting gigs and band info but I generally delete gig postings that are not relevant to my area, so if that's your thing then don't bother. Have respect, that's all I ask.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Your mom. I have heard that you can tell a lot about a person through someone's mother, conversation or not.

Merry Friggin' Valentine's Day

My valentine's obligation has been satisfied with a painting gifted to B. I feel much better about not supporting an 'holiday' created to help stores fill the sales gap between other holidays. With Va...

Swunk is pretty much how I feel at the moment. I'm up way too late as I told my other half I'd wait up until she gets home... you figure why. Of course she ran up to The Haunt with Chab and his new sq...

CRUNCH. SMASH. BAM.

So we managed to kill another car. B had a car slam into the driver's side door a couple of weeks ago, effectively killing the van. Sometimes I think we were never meant to have decent cars. I started...

Music video project

Baker finally got me the unmixed scratch track of Manifesto so I can fine tune the latest EDS video. It's gonna be brutal, let me tell you. I took his base concept and moved it to production. The orig...

Living in the ’Zone

For those of us who have lived in Broome County, around the Greater Binghamton area, know: Rod Serling used this as a template. Good ol' Rod lived in Binghamton for many years and a stranger place the...

I feel like crap and yet, upbeat.

My seasonal allergies are in full swing. I remember taking KD to her prom way back when and I was miserable then too. Whatever is in bloom between mid May and late June hits me like a ton of bricks an...

Why, why, why?

Here's an item that bugs the living shit out of me. Men vs. Women. As with all great conflicts, the fight begins with measuring and amplifying differences in action and opinion. Men are morons. Ask any...
