This is not the real John Barrowman, I am simply just an avid fan who is here to provide all you other fans with the delights of his music.
John Scot Barrowman was born on the 11th March 1967 in Glasgow in Scotland where he lived until he was 8 years old, and his family relocated to the states for his father's work.
John spent the rest of his childhood mainly in Joliet, Illinois, and after a stint at University, he got the leading role in Anything Goes with Elaine Page on the West End Stage, and has been a sensation on both stage and screen ever since.
As a young man in the UK, John did a stint as a presenter on the Saturday morning kids show Live and Kicking, as well as becoming a huge star on the stage, using his astounding talents as a singer and an actor to wow Great Britain.
As an addition to the numerous stage shows John has appeared in, his has added the genre of pantomime to his list of many talents. In 2006-7, John appeared as Jack in a production of Jack and the Beanstalk in Cardiff, and played Aladdin in 2007-8 in the panto of the same name in the Birmingham hippodrome, where he is returning in 2008-9 to play Robin Hood.
Skip forward through the 90s where John did many performances as different characters in different stage shows, as well as appearing in two short lived American sitcoms (Central Park West and Titans), to the 2000's, when John hit the big time on British (and later American television) when in 2005 Russell T Davies and the BBC hired him to play the much loved Captain Jack Harkness on the recently revived Doctor Who.
John was delighted to be playing Captain Jack, as he had loved the show since he was a boy, and still blames it to this day for his bad spelling as he watched the show instead of studying for school!
After the first season of Doctor Who it became apparent that Jack would not be appearing in the second series of Doctor Who, but instead Producer, creator and writer Russell T Davies created a spin off show called Torchwood - a show which would be Captain Jacks! In short, John was given his own sci-fi show!
Torchwood was highly successful in the UK and was commisioned to do a second series, and it hit American by storm, picking up huge acclaim! It is currently being aired on Wednesdays on BBC2 at 9pm in the UK.
John reappeared as Captain Jack in Doctor Who at the end of the third series, and is set to come back briefly at the end of Season 4, which will be aired in 2008.
In addition to this, John has released many CDs, cast recordings of shows he has appeared in, Reflections from Broadway, John Barrowman Swings Cole Porter and a CD of John's favourite Andrew Lloyd Webber songs. More recently (November 2007) John has released a CD called Another Side, on which he sings songs that have a meaning to him in some way, and so that his expanding fanbase can discover Another Side to John Barrowman. He has also written an autobiography with his sister Carole called Anything Goes, which was released early 2008, along with his own reading of the book in audiobook format.
In April and May this year, John will also be performing a short tour for his album, which has recently gone Gold.
