About Me

Hello Folks,
Welcome Everyone. I'm a native San Franciscan trying to learn the ropes of the music business. I started studying music back in 1986 by joining a local boys choir. At the time i was only 9 years old. I sang in that choir until late 1988 when the choir i had joined split. I then joined another choir at that time. In 1989 I went on my first summer tour with the choir traveling to places like: New York, Montreal, and Washington DC. in 1990 I went on my second tour with the choir traveling through the likes of Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. Then in 1991 I went on my last and final tour with the choir singing in places like: Japan, Hong Kong, and the Philippines. Traveling and singing at those places was an experience I will never forget. Then in 1996 I took my next step in my music career. I took my first music course at the City College of San Francisco. I started to study different genres of music as well as different cultural music. Then in 2002 I took my first composition course. I learned different techniques and ways to write music. I am also a drummer. I started to learn drumming back in 1999. I am now a drummer for The Wednesday City College of San Francisco Jazz band and have been since 2001. I got into EDM in 2004 and I started to produce using FL Studios in 2007. I try to incorporate African Drumming and 12-tone serials into my music to create an odd but interesting sound. For those who wish to get a free copy of my Demo CD just let me know. If you would like to buy my first CD of $5.00 then message me and I'll tell u where to send the money. The songs Dizzy Tripplets and Headed Towards Insanity are on my first CD. My CDs are diy so bare with me on the quality. I also do special requests. If anybody would like me to lay a track on their behalf i am more than happy to do so. I enjoy writing songs for other people just let me know. Just let me know on whether u want fast or slow mix. If you would like I can send you the mp3 through email or something. If all goes well and I have enough stuff i have written for people i will send everyone who i have written for a free cd of the songs i have written for everyone like a compilation cd.

Show me some luv peepz and please vote for my other songs and maybe I'll be number 1. You can vote at: http://www.ourstage.com/profile/djkrazijay How did I come up with the name Krazi Jay? Well, when i was younger i ran in a no-run zone at a water park and slipped a fell on my head and scrapped my knee. Everyone thought I was trying to use my head to stop me from sliding so they started to call me Krazy Jay and it has stuck with me ever since. I also use to put black pepper in everything and mix stuff together and drink it.
Influences: The Chemical Brothers, Webern, Schonberg, Bartok, John Digweed, among others. I would like to thank first and foremost my teachers that have taught me all I know about music. Mostly S. Kwaku Daddy for teaching me about African Culture and most of the African Beats. Without them I wouldn't be here making music like i do.

Sounds Like: What's the first thing that comes to mind when you hear this music? My music has been described as "abstract", "different", "crazy", "scary", and "noise". How would you describe it? Is it something you could listen to or is it something in passing. Let your mind wander when you hear it and you will know where I'm coming from. If you listen to it with a closed mind you won't get it. Open up your mind and expand your horizon. Where does this music lead you? Is it confusing? Maybe. It could also just be noise to you. The entire idea behind my music is to try and create a natural high. Not artificially by either taking drugs or drinking but by listening and opening up your mind and letting your imagination flow. With the unexpectedness of 12-tone Serials and impressionism, the cohesiveness of African Drumming, and the electronic sound of synthesized music, who knows where it could lead to? This is my passage way for you to journey into the unknown phenomenon known as the spirit world. Have a safe and successful journey. Happy traveling!!!
