Everything You Need To Know About Striggs:
"Trust Me, I Know What I'm Doing". The Semi-Sophomore album coming very, VERY soon! (I promise!!)
S.T.L. is a rapper. These days, that doesn't really come as a shock to anyone, because (as DeFakto so eloquently put it) every 6 out of 5 people rap. But, somehow, Stress manages to stand out from the pack and gain recognition and kudos everywhere he goes. How the hell is he able to do that? First of all, let's get to know the guy a little bit more.
S.T.L. stands for Stress Tha Lyricist. Yes, the "Tha" is purposely spelled with an "A" instead of an "E". You will not win any grammar points for trying to correct it. Moving along...although S.T.L. is his official stage name and is the name that will be connected to all of his work (except for his collaborations with DeFakto...more on that later), he is known by a variety of alias; including but not limited to: Striggity, Striggs, S to the T, Mr. S.T, and Nerd Ferguson. He will answer to any of those. He faithfully represents his hometown of Richmond, VA but will also frequently shout out his birthplace of Bronx, NY. This crossbreeding has given him a rather unique style and an almost unmatched ability to effortlessly superimpose himself onto a song of any nature. Whether it's gritty east coast street hop, a bass heavy club banger, or a driving, Twista style speed fest, Striggs is right at home. Please, do not waste your time trying to pigeon hole this guy into any ONE category. You'd be selling him short, and you'd easily throw 2-3 hours of your life down the drain. When Mr. Ferguson isn't adding to his ridiculously large assortment of solo recordings, he's most likely recording with his partner in rhyme DeFakto. In fact, the duo official records together under the moniker DeFakto & Stress (rather than DeFakto & S.T.L. Just has a much nicer ring to it, no?). The two managed to put together an LP that went unreleased for numerous reasons, although it can easily be found on the net. They support each other’s solo pursuits, but still plan on officially releasing they're debut as a duo.
After 2 releases (2005's "Alright Already!!!" and 2007's internet only "Nerd Rap"), Striggs is preparing his semi-sophomore album "Trust Me, I Know What I'm Doing". I choose the word "Semi" because "Alright Already!!!" was his "semi" debut (he recorded an album in 2004 called "The Soundtrack"), and "Nerd Rap" wasn't a full scale release. Yes, I know...all this music can be rather confusing. But that's what happens when an artist is dedicated to his craft. Kinda like Lil' Wayne. You couldn't even find a bootleg of that niggas last album. Too many damn songs!!!
In closing, S.T.L. is better than you @ at least 90% of the things you do. ESPECIALLY if one of those thing is rap. h0lllar!! :-)
