RSPCA Coventry

The Coventry Branch of the RSPCA looks after unwanted cats, dogs and small animals. Most arrive from homes that, for one reason or another, can no longer look after them.
Some, sadly, reach us as a result of neglect or cruelty; sometimes we are brought heartbreaking examples of man’s terrible unkindness and lack of morale duty. The RSPCA’s caring and knowledgeable staff provide for the individual needs of each animal until the day it can find a kind and loving new home.
It costs £800 each and every day at the RSPCA Animal Centre. Veterinary treatment alone amounts to more than £50,000 each year. We rely on YOUR support. We receive no government or lottery assistance and the majority of the £800 it costs to run our animal centre each day, is raised locally.
Our figures in 2007 weren't as high as 2006, mainly because around 15 kennels had to be closed down as they had become unsafe to accommodate dogs. Also, the cattery had to be closed for a number of weeks due to a couple of outbreaks of cat flu; the wet weather didn't help with this! This year we hope to make a start on our rebuild and raise the remaining £60,000 that's left for the completion.
