Sounds Like: Ormus combines the linked elements of Rock,Punk,Metal & Emo to create an epic blend of sound all their own.
After years on the coverband scene, songstress Angela Em & drummer Jesse decided to start an original band that would allow them to rock out, express themselves & have a great time. They auditioned a number of players before selecting the line up that would record their first cd 7 + 2(released 2007).Cd in hand, they hit the Indie scene in Edmonton,Alberta winning rock fans over with their sound and live show. Venues included The Urban Lounge, The One on Whyte,Wonderbar,Rendezvous,Eddie Shortz and The Warehouse.Ormus also got involved with some fundraisers, Foodstock which raised money and food for the Edmonton Food Bank and Youth Emergency Shelter as well as the Canadian Liver Foundations Battle of the Bands as judges.
The international compilation cd by Quickstar Productions"Rock 4 Life" included Ormus song "How Long"(available on I-tunes) and continues to raise awareness and funds for a degenerative liver disorder called PSC.All was well for Ormus who continued to forge ahead when drummer Jessie was hospitalized with severe head and arm injuries from an attack on whyte avenue. The band refused to go ahead without him and did a couple of acoustic shows to keep busy playing the Whyte Ave Ice Festival and the Wonderbar.
Recently the band was contacted by F'NA Radio(an internet radio station) for their New Music Friday Show which led to a full interview on their Angry Moose Mondays. Check out the interview for an indepth look into the how and whys of the group and their music.
