BIOG:
Black Rein grew up in and around London’s East End, Bow area, a place he likes to refer to as the ‘Planet of the Chimps’ as trouble constantly surrounded himself and friends. He has always had a love for rap music dating back to the early 90s since the era of Ice T tapes. He would know the lyrics word for word and soon realised he had a talent for rap himself. But as he grew into his teens, Drum & Bass, aka Jungle music and Old skool garage were the popular sound. Using his graffiti tag ‘Kay-gee,’ Black Rein got involved in the jungle scene and used any opportunity to spit at pirate radio stations, house raves and even at all dayers in parks, alongside other East End mcs such as Riko and Wiley.
Black Rein has recently brought out his first project ‘The Planet Of The Chimps’ mixtape/DVD. The DVD is filmed by Black Rein himself and shows life around Bow E3. The mixtape is full of hard tracks, not exaggerated, and not lies, and has received much air play from various pirate radio stations.
In the pipeline of his album he has got nearly 50 new tracks plus some new production from France and America. This unique blend of flavours ranging from New York to London, all gelled together by a certain South of France ‘je-ne-sais-qoui’, have resulted in Blackrein forging a sound that is all his own which is just about ready to burst out over the London music scene.
He feels in the best shape of his career ever, confident, hungry, and most importantly focused. He has done various gigs promoting the mix tape tracks in Muswell Hill, Victoria Park as well as numerous nightclubs.
