This website is a result of collaboration between Kurdish vocalist Silan Yilmaz and composer/arranger Thomas Rydell. The songs were recorded in november 2006 at Radio Sörmland studio 10, Eskilstuna. The songs are traditional Kurdish songs in new fresh arrangements. Engineers were Lars Lundin and Nabaz Moheden
About Silan:
Silan was born in Derik in Northern Kurdistan. She lived in Diyarbekir until she was 8 years old and since then she has been living in Sweden.Silan´s music carrier started fairly early. She always took part in music competitions in her school and she took the first price each time. Silan has taken music lessons in Piano and Violin.1997 Silan attended the first Kurdish Music Festival in Sweden and there she won the first price. After that Silan appeared more frequently on Kurdish and Swedish parties, in different cities in Sweden.
About Thomas:
Swedish composer/arranger/guitarist with crossover music as speciality. Originally from Borås but now living in Eskilstuna, Sweden. Thomas has a diploma in composition/arrangeing from Musikhögskolan i Piteå. He is also a well merited film and TV composer.
