I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

About me: born on 18th June 1961 at ten past four in the morning, in the payment ward of the public hospital in Hargeisa, capital of Somaliland to English parents; my Dad working for the Desert Locust Survey out there. It was 1961, a year after British Somaliland had gained independence and six days later formed a union with Italian Somaliland to from the Democratic Republic of Somalia.

The rest his history... Civil war and declaration of independence, democracy, rule of law and free and fair elections, Somaliland now awaits international recognition as a sovereign state.

In the meantime, I am now living with my (Dutch) partner here in Amsterdam, currently without a job but looking, keeping up a blog http://charlesfred.blogspot.com and taking photos http://www.flickr.com/photos/charlesfred
