7th Street Sound is a hard-hitting, dedicated, conscious roots-reggae band from Berkeley, California. Friends since high school, 7th Street has been playing together since 1992.Eddie Arnold is the strength and foundation behind 7th Street. Utilizing an almost militant approach to daily life, Eddie understands that nothing good comes without consistent hard work and dedication, and it’s clear that he lives and breathes by this credo. It seems entirely appropriate that the backbone of 7th Street is a drummer with such incredibly powerful warrior vibes. Eddie is an entirely ‘self-made’ man, and, through his perserverance and dedication, he has been able to provide a fully equipped house, studio, and transportation to back the 7th Street Sound evolution.Although they have been quietly practicing and earning their chops in the 7th Street Studio for years, that kind of dedication doesn’t go unnoticed for long. Eddie and Ben were recruited by and began working with Earl Zero in 2000, and Eddie carried the 7th Street torch, recording an album (Earl Zero’s ‘Roots and Romance’) and touring major festivals in 2001 and the summer of 2002. The original 7th Street three piece was reunified in 2003, and together the band has played shows from Santa Cruz to Arcata with Earl Zero, Jr. Toots and Winstrong. With the recent addition of legendary, award-winning Bay Area guitarist Jason Collins, 7th Street has become a potent sound. Through upcoming projects and performances, 7th Street Sound looks to share pure vibes with the people and musical food for the soul. Be on the lookout for 7th Street.Give Thanks and Praise to The Most High!
