About Me

Mandy Ferrarini is a guitar player currently based out of Flagstaff, Arizona. Performing mostly solo shows at this venture, expect to see more than your usual singer-songwriter when it comes to Ferrarini's music. Music has always been a part of Ferrarini's life and blood starting with the piano at the age of 7, and reaching the guitar by age 16. She has performed in various rock/funk/jambands over the last 5 years; these genres shine through with her solo gigs as well. With influences bouncing around from Phish, Ani Difranco, Radiohead, Iron & Wine, The Grateful Dead, Nickel Creek, Led Zeppelin, and many more this guitarist is striving to reach new waters for female guitarists everywhere. A typical show of hers consists of a good balance of originals and covers, looped with both acoustic electric and electric guitar playing. Keep your eyes and ears open to this emerging Flagstaffian artist--- Gigs posted on jambase.com and at www.myspace.com/mandyferrariniHere's an excerpt from the latest article in Flag Live Newspaper:"Equal parts Ani DiFranco, David Byrne and Iron and Wine’s Sam Beam (with a little Grateful Dead tossed in for good measure), Mandy Ferrarini is one of Flag’s most hypnotizing live musicians. Alternating between electric and acoustic guitar live, her unorthodox percussive guitar playing provides a lush foundation for her vast array of diverse covers and fascinating originals. And she’s does it all solo. As the former frontwoman of sadly defunct local funk-rock band Livelihood, Ferrarini honed her excellent guitar skills and has morphed nicely into a one-woman music machine. Don’t miss her at Flag Brew Thursday. No cover. 9 p.m. 16 E. Rte. 66. 773-1442. "
