A self-taught musician of eleven years, Mason Remel is a multi-instrumentalist with an ever evolving sound. From the banjo to the toy piano, accordion to IBC Roobeer bottles filled with water, Remel makes due with whatever might be around to express himself through his music. His first full length album "They'd Clap Their Hands And Stomp Their Feet" released in May of 2007, reached an underground success by word of mouth in Tulsa's indie music scene, and Remel's somewhat "quirky" but always memorable shows (sporting an Engineer hat, a vibrantly bright flannel shirt, and overalls each time he takes the stage). "They'd Clap Their Hands And Stomp Their Feet" brings together the sounds of more traditional folk, with a "Dylan gone electric" vibe, and some whimsical boyish charm thrown in the mix as well, with songs that take the listener on a musical journey through the mind of a child experiencing first love, to the story of a grown man wishing he had become a cowboy instead. Remel's unique sound and songwriting style are just two of many things that set him apart from other folk artists of today.
