Band Members: OBLIVION The fiercely calibrated musicians that rose to distinction were Digga Hole (drummer), Lanktronic Wright (Guitar), Ant (Guitar), Ross Larsen (Bass) and Joel C Thompson (vocals). DIGGA HOLEDigga: Hailing from the bad street of Wellington Digga was instrumental in the rise of his previous band TERRAFORM. His unorthodox, hard-hitting approach to his performance stands him above the crowd. Digga moves around his kit like a boiling fluid. He churns beats inside out with precise polyrhythms and complex paradiddles.LANK WRIGHTLank (AKA Ollie Wright): Born in Texas Lank brings his American heritage to his death metal riffs. From beneath his dark aviators, black cowboy hat and long blonde mane Lank shreds out riffs and soaring leads that are reminiscent of Dimebag in his more experimental moments. Lank is also the founding member of BLACKTOOTH, Waikatos premiere death metal band.ANT Van DERBOGANBig Ant: The mad silverback, towering over most mortal men. Snaring through a thick plume of cigar smoke, Ants licks incorporate the wizardry of Steve Vai and Joe Satriani with the aggression of Kerry King. Ant lives and breathes guitars as he cleans up unsuspecting musicians on his pool table in his whisky soaked jam studio in South Auckland.ROSS LARSENRoss Larscientist: With a jazz background Ross makes his approach to metal both unique and extremely dynamic. His total musical competency weaves circles around fingers twice his age and experience. His quiet nature disintegrates when strings are under finger and his demonic alter ego emerges. Ross is also the bassist for Auckland’s heritage death metal band FORCED TO SUBMIT. When Ross isn’t antagonising mosh pits he can be found jamming the local jazz clubs with seasoned session pros.JOEL C THOMPSONJoel C Thompson: The Oblivion founder, is a man on a mission from hell, and anything that stands in the way of his vision will stand no more. The explosive vocalist belts out wicked words creating darkly disturbing images in the minds of the audience. His poetry possessed spit sweet from his silver tongue and tar soaked vocal chords. Joel’s uncompromising determination pushes the band to perform and play beyond the threshold of ability, creating the shape of metal to come.
