I have a wide varitey of interests. Travel would be at the top of the list. I have been a few places, but not nearly as many as i'd like. I love to experience different cultures. I like to go off the beaten path - but I also do pathetic, stereotypical touristy things. I would like to learn another language. As much Spanish as I took in school I should be fluent by now!
I try to get a little culture in every now and then - museums, plays you know, crap like that. I like to go out to clubs and dance and have a good time. I don't go out to get drunk and act stupid. If you can't handle your liquor, please don't drink , it's embarrassing.
I try to keep up with current events and know what is going on in the world around me. I listen to our "fair and balanced" media with a healthy dose of skepticism.
Not a sports fan, I don't watch sports - I watch athletes! except for boxing , I like boxing. I recently found out that lacrosse kicks a**, that was the most fun i've had in a long time. Soccer is fun and a lot of soccer players are hot! I think baseball is my least favorite sport to watch. I like football and basketball enough to go to a game but not to watch on tv.

Anyone really! I like to converse with intelligent people that have their own opinions - if it differs from my views, even better - unless you are going to mindlessly spout something you heard on Fox "news". If based on the little you see here you think I am interesting or whatever and want to send me a message or friend request - i'm open to that.
"The constitution was established, and our laws are established, to protect human rights, to protect equal rights and constitutional civil liberties. And I think we have people in power who say that those laws, or those principles, do not apply to them — that they are above the law and can do whatever it takes to manipulate or create laws that enable them to do whatever they please. And that is a danger in our country, and I think the war in Iraq is just one symptom of this agenda. And I think as soldiers, as American people, we need to recognize this, and we need to put a stop to it before it's too late." 1st LT Ehren Watada U.S. Army
I like a lot of different music - even some *gasp* country (ssssh don't tell anybody). Rap (even though I find a the majority of it to be vacuous - hey it IS catchy), Hip Hop, R&B, reggae, dancehall, soca, calypso. Rock, Alternative, Techno, Classical. A few artists/groups I like and not in any particular order ~ Al Green, Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, The Spinners, The O'Jays, Jimi Hendrix, Gerald LeVert, Floetry, Steely Dan, Bee Gees, Michael McDonald (and Doobie Brothers of course), Chicago, Robin Thicke, Puddle of Mudd, Incubus, Metallica, Queens of the Stone Age, Audio Slave, Nickelback, Prodigy, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Gorillaz, Gnarls Barkley, T.I.

I really can't think of a favorite. My memory is SO bad that I can watch movies over and over because I forget so many of the details - sometimes even the ending.
I watch everything from sappy Lifetime movies to weird foreign subtitled movies . Even if it's bad, I get so involved I still want to know what happens. I love lots of suspense and surprise endings. SO tired of the formula movies. (romantic comedies ugh).
Don't get me started on the "black" movies. Either the movie insults your intelligence or you are just so tired of seeing the same actors in different versions of the same movies it's like why bother? It's so annoying, you would think there are only 10 working actors. And if one more singer/rapper turned wannabe actor comes out with a movie or even in a movie - I am never going to the movie theater again! (ok that's not true).
Team America World Police is the funniest movie starring puppets ever!
I USED to watch a lot of tv - I would watch just about anything that came on (even Beastmaster - now that is just sad). I am way too cheap to pay for cable so I have one channel and that is CBS . Sometimes on sunday nights when the rabbit ears are adjusted just right - I get ABC. (shhh I have recently been "upgraded" I can't elaborate on that - the FCC and Comcast could be reading this!
Paternity tests on Maury Povich used to be my thing - I never got tired of hearing "you are NOT the father!" . Currently hooked on Heroes! I used to like Smallville (still like Tom Welling). The Simpsons ofcourse! Family Guy, Malcolm in the Middle are some of my favorites. I like foreign tv shows - Are you being served? and The Kumars on BBC. The Daily Show and the Colbert Report - informative AND entertaining! I am dissapointed with cartoons these days - saturday mornings ain't what it used to be.
My score on The 3 Variable Funny Test :
the Wit
((61% dark, 38% spontaneous, 26% vulgar))
your humor style:CLEAN | COMPLEX | DARKYou like things edgy, subtle, and smart. I guess that means you're probably an intellectual, but don't take that to mean pretentious. You realize 'dumb' can be witty--after all isn't that the Simpsons' philosophy?--but rudeness for its own sake, 'gross-out' humor and most other things found in a fraternity leave you totally flat. I guess you just have a more cerebral approach than most. You have the perfect mindset for a joke writer or staff writer.Your sense of humor takes the most thought to appreciate, but it's also the best, in my opinion. You probably loved the Office. I am not the avid reader that I once was. I read non-fiction mostly. Black history, Military history and I guess what you would call "conspiratorial" history - "The Unseen Hand" is like a must read up there with 1984 and Animal Farm.
I get really absorbed in books and once I almost set fire to an apartment building while reading a book and trying to fry french fries. Hmmm come to think of it no smoke detector in the apts back then either...
Manchild in the Promised Land is one of my favorites from back in the day. I used to read a lot of Anne Rice - and her psuedonyms - she is a freak! I like the Harry Potter books and movies too. Everyone should read "Who moved my cheese?" it's like $20 for 90 pages, so I suggest you hit up the library for that one.
