During the creative process, Mind Vortex envisage the image, vision even that is to be roughly “projected†into minds eye of the listener. The covers for the two tunes “Serenity†and “That Good Feelin†were co-designed with Mind Vortex and Flix to further aid this unwritten musical communication.
Mind Vortex consists of Laurie and Stefan. We have been making music together since we were 14 in school, taking interest in the Jazz Funk sound. Playing in Jazz & R’n’B bands. Then the world of Drum & Bass or Electronic music was introduced to us and that was it, we knew what we wanted to do. Since then we have been feverishly studying the science of production to release our visions as music. We feel we have a diverse, deep sound, inspired by soul, channeled and further pushed by the many technically and musically gifted producers.
Currently we are constantly producing, also looking for vocalists, DJs who would like a copy of our tunes.
Thanks to everyone for their continuing support. Flix, PFM, DJ Ballistic, Mr. Anderson, Richard, Messy D, Owen, Phat Playaz, RJae, Crackers & Jam, the list goes on. And many thanks, to everyone helping us, spread the vibe by playing the music to the masses.
The Human brain is currently only functioning to around 3 percent of it's potential. Music, (or sound), is proven to unlock or utilise the same receptors in the brain that certain drugs stimulate. Music itself can stimulate memory, feelings, emotions, you can hear music with an associated memory and the listener can be almost transported back to that moment in time. From the extreme of causing hallucinations, to the general feeling of happy or sadness, music has a powerful effect on the human brain, influencing mood, emotion, thought and even actions. For us, during the creative process the first thing often seen by our mind's eye is colour, e.g. music with a dark feel is often seen as black or green. Following this comes a place, or time, associated to the sound the ear is hearing. The awe inspiring factor is this unwritten feeling, emotion or even vision seen by the creator of the piece can and has been experienced by the extended listener.
Peace.
