Gaby born and raised in Chicago is no stranger to the music scene with over 15 years of expirience. Gaby GETDOWN has established himself as one of Chicago’s finest and respected DJ’s. Spinning in the early 80’s alongside Dj’s such as Julian Jumpin Perez, Bad Boy Bill, Hotmix 5, and performers Fast Eddie, Tyree Cooper, Kool Rock Steady (RIP). He has achieved one of the earliest goals of spinning with some of the best talent Chicago had to offer.Having not stopped here, he also has been guided into the music scene through small record store DJ INTERNATIONAL RECORDS(also a label which has a major part in the history of house music). Here he was able to achieve yet another level in the music industry and went onto perform at Chicago’s rated ..1 mix show (while airing) WBBM FM 96.3 “B96 Street Flava†and excelling to more than 25 successful mix compilations. In addition to this, he was working tenaciously for the infamous record store “HIP HOUSE†whom he thanks for allowing him hands on experience to further propel him into music career.His love for the music scene has allowed him opportunities to perform at small and large scale rave events throughout the U.S. with promoters such as Raverworld, Millennium, Full Spectrum, 2 Tigers, etc. In 97’ he was booked to spin at Berlin’s “Love Parade 97†one of the countries largest events, alongside DJ’s Frankie Bones, CZR, Halo, Anabolic Frolic, DJ Jes, Angel Alanis, Skylab 2000, Hyperactive, and Bad Boy Bill, just to name a few. Not stopping there he wanted to give his audience something different, a different vibe, so in 2001 Gaby “GetDown†came up with an alias G2 (G-Squared).That same year he teamed up with one of Chicago’s top promoters/retail stores Another Level. There he succeeded in making a name for G2, playing @ such events as Purgatory 2, Euphoria 3 and Jingle Beats, spinning still with the likes of BBB, Danny that Wildchild, Alex Peace, DJ Bam Bam, Dave the Drummer and Josh Da Funky 1. G2’s style consists of hard bangin, Hardstyle/ tech house with DMC trickery and wicked scratches and the occasional disco/electro house. After taking a few years off he is back again to do his thang! You can catch G2 a.k.a. Gaby GETDOWN performing at clubs throughout the U.S. and Chicago. We have learned only to expect the best from Gaby, he never lets the crowd down, and always keepin’ em’ bumpin, jumpin, and screaming for more!!!!!
