..She was born in Tunisi and in her city she learns the darbouka and bendir techniques, maghreb area typical instruments. She moves to Italy in 1989 and starts working as image girl in Italian discos. From 1990 she works as a vocalist in the Neapolitan percussionist Toni Esposito band. In 1996 she interprets, together with Pietra Montecorvino, Maurizio Sciarra film ..La stanza dello scirocco.. sound track composed by Eugenio Bennato who won ..nastro d..argento.. in 1997. In the same year she takes part in the realization of Eugenio Bennato/Musicanova CD Mille e una notte fa; in that occasion she starts collaborating with Musicanova group. In 1998 she gives concerts all around the world: Europe, Eastern Countries (Croatia, Kosovo, Czech Republic, Bosnia), Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, United States, Canada, Australia. In 1999 she records the second CD with Eugenio Bennato, Taranta Power.In 2000 she takes part in WOMAD in Adelaide (Australia) as a vocalist with Eugenio Bennato. The year after she has the same experience but this time in Reading (Great Britain) and Singapore (Japan); in 2001 she participates in numerous festivals like EMMAS (Etnic Meeting of Music and Arts in Sardinia) and Festival Interculturale di Grand Junction-Colorado, USA. In 2002 she founds, together with Erasmo Petringa and Marcello Vitale, ALTOCALORE, a movement that aims at positively revaluing the multiethnic dimension towards which the society is oriented facing any form of cultural barrier. From 2004 she works as a vocalist/percussionist with Pietra Montecorvino and at the same time she starts a soloist activity with concerts in the most famous European theatres; always in 2004 takes part as an interpreter in the animation film Pizza Story sound track, music by Edoardo and Eugenio Bennato. In 2005 she records her first soloist CD ALTOCALORE (Marocco music), with numerous important guests as Gigi Finizio, Lino Cannavacciuolo, Gigi De Rienzo, Abdullah Chhadeh.©2004 Marcello Vitale All Rights Reserved
