The Music Business rarely sees women that are as versatile, soulful, funky, experimental and as accomplished Musically, as Iceland’s Hip-Hop female MC dynamo, KIDO.KIDO ( a.k.a. Kristin Yr Bjarnadottir ), was born in Iceland, On February 1st, 1984. KIDO is 23 years old, and she played Soccer with the greatest soccer team in Iceland, named Valur. An athletic injury, prematurely put an end to her Soccer career, in June, 2004.So, KIDO, being a resilient. creative spirit, changed gears, and began doing the other thing that she loved to do, which is her Music, in the form of MC-ing, Spoken Word performance, and Songwriting.Her first band, Igore, was very popular in Iceland. Igore re leased an album at Christmas, 2004. It contained twelve “good” singles, which is a rarity in any genre.They played on the famous Musical Awards Show in Iceland, called Hlustendaverðlaun FM957. Their Listener Awards and FM957 is the biggest Radio Station in Iceland, with the widest listening audience.Igore, also got nominated as “Rookies of the Year”. But, event ually, the Band split up, and went their separate ways, musically.Proudly, KIDO, is one of the only female Rappers in Iceland. She virtually is the only really active Lady MCs in Iceland, a fact which is as admirable and unique as her talent displays. She is on the forefront of the Icelandic Pop, R&B, and Hip-Hop Scene.KIDO is a prolific Songwriter, with tons of copyrights to attest to that fact. She is building a huge and devoted Fan Base both in Iceland, and now with Internet connections, in the World. KIDO skirts the genres of R&B, POP, and Hip-Hop in her compo sitions. The Music she writes, is more Pop, and R&B, than solely Rap / Hip-Hop. She tackles inummerable subjects, such as the plight of modern women, and unwanted and unloved Teens, and songs about the Gold and Platinum World of Hip-Hop giants, such as Timbaland, as well as and everyday people and themes.Kido is currently in a Band called Snooze. She and BMV have been doing POP and Rap Music together. They have released two singles, in Icelandic. KIDO and BMV are remixing both songs and they are translating them into English for future release.KIDO is also working on a Solo Project of selfinspired songs, and collaborations with Lyricists in the U.S. Soon, she will have a single ready to release here on www.myspace.com/mskidoOne thing for sure, KIDO is a true original.
