I've been playing guitar since almost as long as I can remember, and have had a lot of fun with it over the years. Highlights that spring to mind are playing a set with Mick Taylor (one of the Rolling Stones' former guitarists) at The Astoria in London, going to Europe to play some excellent festivals with a band called Roadhouse, tripping up and down the country to preach the blues with John O'Leary, and pushing the retro boundaries with funkydory every time we play. Life is good!
Alongside gigging I also record bands using my home studio. A great opportunity to use the creative little grey cells a bit differently! I've mixed and engineered the most recent albums for both funkydory and John O'Leary, as well as recording the soundtrack for an upcoming Papa George DVD. I've also recorded demos for many excellent bands over the last year - my favourite of which has to be the one for Uncle Junior - it's rocking! Have a listen to it! I'm always on the lookout for more of this kind of work, so if you or anyone you know needs a demo recorded or an album produced, get in touch! The current project I'm involved with is mixing and editing a forthcoming live album for The John O'Leary Band - it's sounding good so far!
I've also done the odd guitar session, as you can hear from the clips above. It's all good! Again... need a guitarist for anything, let me know!
And that's about it... oh apart from the last thing - writing is fun too... I do the odd review and interview, mostly for "Blues Matters!" Magazine. One of life's little goals is to write a novel in the next five years... we'll see if it happens...
