About Me

coming exhibition, Perfect Skin? , will be on view between 8 May - 8 June 2008 at Galerie N, Wireless Road.

Opening Party: cool music by DJ Seed-Norasate Mudkong on Thursday 8 May 2008, 7.00 pm.

Clothing is not only used for protecting the human body from environment but also for reflecting identity and social status of those worn, like the ancestors who painted their own body to mark their social class, as identification with a certain group. Throughout the history, we all have tried to mark our social distinction and social tasks and to build our self-encouragement, at the same time threatening our enemies, by decorating our body.

In today social confusion combined with the capitalism, we have become even more desperate in claiming our clear-cut social identification. The instant identification in a form of clothing or so-called our outer skin is created to replace the ancient body painting in order to meet the perfection and beauty.

When I look at this new creation, sometimes I found conflicts and sometimes emptiness.

my first group exhibition in 2000

Once, I recall, I was overwhelmed by misery. My self-portraits at that time were simply told and then became the models for the later pieces. Some say my works have strongly been influenced by Franc...
