In the small country community of Darraweit Guim, the 4 Findlay sisters formed 'Iotah' in late 2006 and their hard work is paying off. Now looking to break into the Melbourne music scene, Iotah are a band that must be seen live to be fully appreciated.Growing up on a diet of Led Zeppelin, Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix and ACDC the girls blend their influences to generate a unique sound.
Amy Lee 19 (Lead Vocals & drums), Hannah 16 (Guitar & Vocals), Sarah 14 (Keyboard & Vocals), and 11 year old Holly (Bass & Vocals) make up this exciting quartet who have already developed a reputation for a memorable performance.
Don't let their age fool you...the girls have a long list of shows and accolades to their name which include winning the 2008 Macedon Ranges 'Push Start' Battle of the Bands heat, the Mitchell Shire Battle of the Bands, making the quarter-final of the Emergenza worldwide Battle of the Bands and playing on the same bill as Tex Perkins. Along with featuring in various newspapers throughout the Macedon Ranges & Mitchell shires they were also named Freeza Central “Band of the Month†for September last year.
With hopes of influencing other young people into music, and of becoming a well-established and progressive band, always willing to bend the rules of rock, Iotah are sure to be sticking around…
