This is Ras Nikhilesh, born Nikhilesh Nath Nayar, son of Narendra Nath Nayar and Christine Denise Davies, in Ottawa Ontario Canada. His mixed parentage has led to a diverse overstanding of many ethnic and cultural diversities. At the age of 9, Ras Nikhilesh began his formal musical training at his home with piano lessons and then in school with the percussion position in class, which included piano and "traditional" trap drum kit, and also the marimba, triangle, and all other "traditional" instruments within the percussion ensemble for western classical music. Ras Nikhilesh soon picked up the guitar and bass and also the djembe drums from West Africa, which is how he makes his living today. "The music supports me and I support the music," is Ras Nikhilesh's motto. A professional musician is one who is making a living from the many aspects of musical development and creativity, or technology and craftsmanship. Ras Nikhilesh in presently residing in the Greater Vancouver Area and available to re-skin your djembe drums or to be booked with his band for any function possible. Also he is available as a studio musician on bass, drums, piano, keyboards, guitar, percussion, and vocals. As a producer or visionairy or consultant for your musical projects be they a school function or the latest in "hip-hop," "Reggae," "Traditional West African Percussion," "R&B," albums, whatever the occasion Ras Nikhilesh would be a welcome inclusion to liven up the party or at the very least to offer a perspective that perhaps was overlooked....
