First of all, let me start by saying that this site is not Scary Larry, but is the offical Jalopy Showdown Myspace site done with his permission. I started this page to show my support and get involved with the best Hot Rod show on the East Coast. If you need to contact Larry he is Numero uno on our friends list.The Jalopy Showdown will be held this year on Saturday May 17th, 2008 at the Latimore Valley Fair Grounds in York Springs, PA (about 25 miles South East of Harrisburg). Also, just like last year, there will be a special free Friday night Drop In on the Showdown grounds Friday evening May 16th. Great way to meet new people, hang out with the Showdown crew. Plenty of camping space to make a weekend out of it.Saturday's event kicks off around 9am. $10 gets you thu the gates (under 16 free) for the show, bands, swap meet, flea market, vendors, track laps, and lots of "hot rod, rockabilly foolishness". Cool cars, cool people. For those that do not know, there is no rain date for the Showdown...in fact, it has become known as "Showdown Rules." The Showdown goes on rain or shine. This can't be stressed enough...NO RAIN DATE!!! Last year the clouds threatened and many people lit up the mailbox wanting to know if the show was on or not. The clouds parted, the sun came out, and a few people missed the best show yet. So one more time...THE SHOW GOES ON RAIN OR SHINE!!!
