Jeremiah began his musical career as the guitarist, songwriter with the group Honey Davis. Along with lead vocalist Joe Loretta, James Damone on bass and Bruce Michael on drums, they burst onto the NYC music scene. Within months of their debut at the legendary CBGB’s, they were headlining for both Friday & Saturday nites. At one point, Honey Davis headlined and sold out on three nites, (Thurs, Fri, & Sat) which brought in the likes of David Bowie, Debbie Harry & Patti Smith. With major label interest the group worked hard, performed hard and some partied too hard leading to the “crash landing†and exit of Joe Loretta.Picking up the pieces, Jeremiah, James & Bruce invited Ken Parente to fill the lead vocal spot. With more traditional R&R voice, Jeremiah contoured the writing of songs into New UK influenced sound. They changed the name to XDavis and recorded their first single, “In My World†and released it on the Crown Records label.The band returned to headlining the NYC clubs and with a bit of good luck the single starting popping up on radio stations landing them shows in Boston, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania and many spots in Upstate New York. The single, “In My World†is still being sold and sought out by vinyl collectors in California. During a NYC show, the band was spotted by ATI Booking agents, Kelly McCort & Jeff Rowland. At that time, ATI had 40% of the UK rock market with a variety of artists from ACDC, Kiss, Black Sabbath to Elvis Costello, Squeeze and Stray Cats. Kelly & Jeff thought that XDavis would be a perfect fit for the support act role for all the UK bands that were now on top of the music scene. A couple of quick tune up shows with the likes of The Ventures, Billy Burnett, Foghat, David Johansen and yes..The Dead Kennedys and XDavis landed the support role of the Stray Cat tour. That tour elevated the group from large clubs to major college & theatre shows. Their second single, “Do I Do I†continued the momentum. A little foot note…Motley Crue offered to buy the song & rights for $100..No Deal.Unfortunately, Ken departed as they were preparing their debut LP “Dancing in the Dark.†Jeremiah stepped into the vocal role and during a show were spotted by upcoming engineer/producer, now multiple Grammy winner, Glenn Rosenstein, (U2, Talking Heads, etc.) Rosenstein quickly recorded the band at the famed Sigma Sound Studios in NYC. Capturing the “moment†of the music scene, it was released on the Swank Dog Label and landed in Billboards New & Upcoming section. All the while, Kelly & Jeff kept the live shows coming. On the strength of the LP, radio airplay followed on such major stations as WXRK (K ROCK) & WNEW in NYC, BCN in Boston, and WMMR in Philadelphia. The band now was appearing with the likes of Squeeze, Tears for Fears, OMD, Big Country. ATI merged with ICM to form the largest agency in the U.S. and offered more opportunity for the band. Playing arena shows with Boy George & Culture Club, more shows with Brian Setzer, The Fabulous Thunderbirds and others. UK manager, David Hemmings, (Gentle Giant, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath) was hired, but his untimely death during the first UK tour was a major setback.Upon their return to the U.S. Capital Records requested a meeting with the band. On this strength of that NYC management company Hart & Hinkle, (J.Geils, Naked Eyes) was hired to seal the deal. After shows at NYC’s venue, “The Bottom Line†Kurt Loder from Rolling Stone Called the band “A Bright & Shining Star of the NYC music scene.†Glenn Rosenstein now a close friend and mentor prepared to produce & record the band’s second LP, “Summer of Fire†Legendary rock photographer, Mick Rock, (Bowie, Lou Reed, Queen, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd) was chosen for a classical cover and Summer of Fire was on its way. Billboard, Cashbox, CMJ and UK’s NME gave it critical acclaim. Rolling Stone called it a cross between the Clash & Cream. More tours, more reviews and two more trips to London kept the band busy. XDavis became so close to the UK music scene that they are listed in the “History of the New Wave†as a UK band. Their next recording effort was produced by David Bowie guitarist, Mick Ronson of Mott the Hoople. The sessions were incredible. Mick along with the keyboard player and long time friend, Gary Corbet, (Cinderella, Kiss, Foreigner, Slash and many others) played on these sessions. Gary also played on the previous LP’s and many other XDavis recordings. The highlight was a version of the song, “Stillwell Avenue†(which appeared on “The Summer of Fire. That had the Mott the Hoople “All the Young Dudes†feel. Unfortunately these sessions were never released. It is now available upon request through this site. After more touring, the band really needed time off.Jeremiah continued to write and record and even wrote the title track to the Mob movie, “One Deadly Road†which starred Frank Adonis & Burt Young. The cast included members of Goodfellas, The Bronx Tale & Carlito’s Way. Jeremiah was off to the People Farm…his first solo effort is available directly through this website as arrangements are made for US & UK release…
