About Me

Offset formed against the back drop of the American middle west in the year of 2005. The original lineup quickly formed a gig worthy set. After terrorizing the cattle and locals of Springfield, mo and surrounding cities for a full year their original bassist departed the group, on good terms, to follow his true musical desires. Without despair, the remaining members found a replacement bassist within a month. The transition was smooth. Three months later the band was where they first left.

Offset gained a respectable local following playing low-key shows at the Billiard’s Blue Room in Springfield, but yearned for greener pastures. In the December of 2006 they hired the talents of local recording guru, Lou Whitney. The band was more than pleased with the results. Tracks include ‘Bleeding’, ‘Unspoken’, and the crowd pleasing ‘Show Me’.
Offset brings metal back to its roots and pioneers raw untarnished energy reminiscent of the early 90s. With live performances ranging from brutal to catastrophic, Offset doesn’t disappoint. The music instigates a fire within and leaves you no option of salvation. There is no way to douse the flames. You must give in and let your blood boil to a curdle.
Keeping the tradition of metal alive, Offset travels the unbeaten path slashing at the thicket of **$$!!** radio friendly ***$$!!$$.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members:

Vocals: Mike
fronts the group as if possessed by such greats as Prince, Phil Anselmo, and yes… Elvis Presley (Hail to the king baby!), His years of life experience have been honed into wisdom and can be heard in his encouraging lyrics. “I have these friends. I don’t need enemies.”

Guitar: Jon
technically yet tastefully distorts a landscape of order and masks it with melodic insanity. Influenced by a wide array of musical greats (James Taylor to Pantera), Jon shows his versatility in a genra where versatility is a rarity.

Bass: Doug
has an extreme lack of conformity even when confronted by rebellion. His jazz metal fusion approach to bass perfectly reflects his musical taste.

Drums: ‘Nerd Metal’
provides a solid wall for you to band your head against. Intricate drum patterns, rumbling 32nds on the kick and a take no shit attitude assails you with pure unadulterated METAL.

Influences: Mudvayen, Lamb of God, Clutch, Primus, Chimaira, Prince, Elvis, James Taylor, Pantera, Mike Patton, Miles Davis, SRV, Rush
Sounds Like: If you let loose four very stubborn, but determined individuals in a room with an assortment of deadly weapons and a bottle of whisky, shake briskly and pour over ice you will have a nice refreshing glass of …
