Adam Popowitz

Adam Popowitz was born and raised in New Westminster, just outside of Vancouver, BC. He started classical guitar at five, but wasn’t planning on a musical career until he discovered Van Halen. His older brother turned him onto The Cure and The Smiths and he soon formed the band that became Big Bottom Swing where he met Silvana Kane. Kane left to sing with West End Girls and Popowitz formed Mollies Revenge, a progressive hard rock band. They got signed to a major label, but eventually evolved into a two-person group between Yvette, the lead singer and Popowitz making music as Yve Adam. In 2000, he opened Rear Window Song & Sound Recording Studio and has since become a successful producer and songwriter, working with a wide variety of folk, world, rock and pop artists such as T Nile and Mariam Matossian. When Kane returned to Vancouver in 2003, the two reconnected and started Pacifika, a genre-bending, multilingual group who’s debut release “Asuncíon” (Six Degrees Records) landed on iTunes, NPR’s, and Amazon’s Best of 2008 lists.Please visit www.adampopowitz.com for more info.
