Hi FRIENDS
Welcome to the Zow, the myspace entertainment and information kiosk for Nashville singer/songwriter Howie Zow aka The Zow, the activator, the prognosticator, and the innovator. We hope you enjoy your stay. We work tirelessly to bring you the best in southern comfort! We ourselves sometimes enjoy a Baileys in our coffee, but whatever works for you is good with us.
Howie Zow is blues rock, country-punk and rockabilly musician from Long Island. He recorded his first single 'Middle of the Road' with his first band Interlux in 1979. Howie's video of Middle of the Road, (see below) was aired on Manhattan Cable TV in the late 70's. (beginning of rap-jazz and hip hop) More incredible details about this may be found if one continues reading further. You may also just sit and enjoy the great and wonderful music. It's coming as living stereo right in your home!
In 1983 Howie began The Zow when he recorded his first album "The Brink of Exposure†at Intergalactic Music in New York using the world's first polyphonic digital sampling synthesizer, the Fairlight CMI, with the help of engineers from Electric Ladyland. They also used the guitar synthesizer, and experimented with digital interpolation devices.
"Prisoner of Desire", Zow's 2nd album, was "pre-country-punk" and was also a return to rockabilly roots.
