Currently playing free lance and enjoying every minute of the various music genre thrown at me !
Drum Tuition: I want to give something back to people wishing to start life out on a ROLL....or two. I can't think of a better profession where you can hit something that won't hit you back and if you're good at it - you get paid :) Drumming keeps you fit too and if there was ever a power cut the Drummer - plays on! It's in the blood, a tribal thing....it's a lot of fun. Some people don't even know they are drummers till they take a chance and have a go....ah, it keeps coming back to 'The Rhythm of Life'
My Past: I started playing/recording in Rock/Pop/Funk bands during the 70s and having a ball, mixing with legends and making all the wrong career decisions - but hey, it was fun trying. By 1994 and living in Scotland my lovely partner 'Barbi' and I collaborated on a play with music called 'The Glitterstone' even won an award writing a treatment for it's animation. I don't think I've ever been happier creating this worthy piece of magic.
'Rock Drummer' to 'Marine Mammal Observer and back again'
In 1998 I put together and released an album for research into our community of Whales and Dolphins along the Moray Firth Scotland we called amusingly 'Bottlenose Boogie' and before I knew it I was on Seismic Boats travelling the world protecting them. Good link huh? All thanks to my mate Dr Kev - a legend in the field of Cetaceans. Now both Barbi and I are proud trustees of the CRRU or Cetacean Research and Rescue Unit - give it looksee(www.crru.org.uk)
