When Skwatta Kamp burst on the local hip-hop scene, we were all “flabbergastedâ€. This group was a group made up of abomRapper, seven of them to be specific. Many asked how would they survive with “7 egos/personalitiesâ€. Well they have. With 7 talents, each person had his role and his own talent. Now it is time for Mzansi to experience the fruits of one of the individuals.
Flabba became known as the roughneck of the group – a role that he reluctantly took, but made it his own because of his powerful personality. But within the group – he became the softie. He is the big brother. He is the one who protects all the others.
His journey into life began on October 17, 1977, in the dusty streets of Orlando West – to his proud parents he became Nkululeko Habedi. His strict maternal grandmother dominated his early years. At this time Flabba knew nothing on the hardcore life of the streets, until he moved to Alexander to live with his parents. They were more relaxed in rules than umagogo. This is when Flabba learnt how to walk the streets, talk the talk of the streets – basically learnt how to be a man.
