The newest songstress making waves is ready to shed light on her
powerful voice, her
sexy singing style, modest disposition, and the revival of true, soul
driven R&B singing. With a commanding voice to make her heard, Kortney
"Kaycee" Leveringston is ready to make 2007 her debut year.
Kaycee was born and raised in Kansas City and hit one of the biggest
accomplishments of her musical career in 2004 after linking with
super producer Adonis and recording the smash hit "My Boo (Pt. 1) with
Grammy award winning R&B artist USHER. Unfortunately, the song was
also rerecorded and ultimately released with Alicia Keys singing the
refrain, and once Pt.1 was leaked on the internet, the acclaim was
attributed to none other than Beyonce. Little did the public know
that the real voice belonged to none other than the young Kaycee. The
mishap spawned the often noted comparison between Kaycee's sultry
powerhouse voice with that of none other than the diva herself,
Beyonce.
Now older and wiser, Kaycee is ready to show the world that struggles
only make you
stronger and practice brings you closer to perfection.
Kaycee spent her childhood surrounded by generations of strong
females-- her grandmother, mother, and three sisters. Her mother and
aunt worked as traveling performers, and it wasn't long before Kaycee
could no longer resist the lure of the stage. At a mere five years
old, she was already attached to the mic, belting from it Whitney
Houston's hit song, "I Will Always Love You". Her family couldn't
deny the mighty sound coming from their little girl, and from then on
it was talent shows and showcases anywhere and everywhere. Support and
encouragement took her far, but the troubles of adolescence lingered
not far behind. Jealousy from classmates forced her into home
schooling for two years of high school, and an unexpected thyroid
condition
threatened to shatter her confidence. Kaycee's passion for singing
and love for performing kept her from losing sight of her dream and
brought her to new horizons as an artist.
Although she loves to record, Kaycee has found her niche in the
addictive performance and has taken on a fresh strategy with the
addition of her choreographer and sister, Andrea. Having opened for
chart-topping artists such as Ja Rule, Jo-Jo, and Ciara, Kaycee's demo
fell into many important hands in 2005, including producers The
Insomniacs and her current manager JP aka "Mr. Get It Done".
Together they are building a reputation for Kaycee as they brace to
take the R&B world by storm.
