About Me

one time actor, acrobat and entertainer now parent and schoolteacher.Grew up in Adelaide, South Australia and did some Ag. science studies(badly)in the early '80s. Then I went feral in Ceduna for a couple of years. I tried to run a youth centre and do a few other jobs but mostly explored ways of connection with Nungas there, tracing boyhood fantasies of following Clemmie Chester out bush. (R.I.P. Clem). I found good friends and wild times but the booze and smoko took its toll on us all and I had to get away. Involvement in the local theatre and arts scene got me a ticket out.I studied Drama in Whyalla for a year and had a great time but unable to build an acting career there (lol!) I went back to Adelaide for further studies. In 92 I graduated and went to Byron Bay to work for a friend. I liked the place and especially its regular surf so I stayed and worked on developing street circus and kids circus classes. That's when I met & married Khilaas and picked up a gig with Brainstorm Productions. With local actor Geoff Moon we put together "Sticks and Stones" a schools theatre show on conflict resolution skills which is still running hot fourteen years later. Two years of touring on little pay took its toll and we had kids on the way so I wangled a circus training job with the new Club Med Byron Bay outfit. Flying trapeze in harness mostly, it was heaps of fun. I also freelanced in acting & clowning and did some work as a special ed. assistant in the local catholic school.Injuries in circus lead to a administrative jobs in resorts and hotels for a while but I was drawn back to education studies. I've just graduated at the end of 2008 and am looking for steady teaching work that pulls all my resources together.
