next party thursday MARCH 8th at the clash bar in clifton!

About Me

MOVEMENT night is a semi regular(at least once a month)event/party, started in Decemeber 2006 by Dr. Lorenz and Brian Molloy. MOVEMENT is a mix of punk, rock & roll, new wave, indie rock, glam, and girl bands (bands with female singers/vocalsr)rockabilly, and psychobilly. Dancing is optional of course, but encouraged and requests are always welcomed. This party is not affiliated with the band movement from new jersey.
MOVEMENT is Dr. Lorenz and Brian Molloy
dj bios:
Dr. Lorenz
David (aka Dr.) Lorenz became involved in the mid 90’s with the New Jersey/NYC punk, hardcore, and emo scene beginning with working the door and promoting shows, and later playing in bands/projects throughout the 90's. Always up for hearing new bands/music he would attend up to 4 shows a week in New Jersey and New York City for years.
While in college (Seton Hall University) he joined 89.5 WSOU in early 2002 immediately following the highly criticized. format change. As a dj for WSOU (“Daring Dave”) 2002-2004 he embraced different styles of music not as popular on the still metal and hardcore dominated station such as indie, retro/garage-revival, and industrial/electro-clash. Also in 2004 he co created a specialty show called femme fatales which focused on bands/artists with female vocalists of all genres.
After graduating Seton Hall in 2004 he worked several music industry related jobs before he began to dj on his own in late 2005. Originally calling himself “dj dc”, and later Dr. Lorenz, he has consistently been dj-ing up to 3 times a week since early 2006 in clubs in new york city and new jersey.
Brian Molloy:
Brian Molloy started DJ-ing in NYC in 2001 and decided to pack it in and stay in NJ in 2005. During that time he spun at various parties including Trash!, Girls & Boys, Countdown, and Tiswas. Aside from DJ-ing, Brian used to be the stage manager for El Vez "The Mexican Elvis" and was the author of Just In Time For Nothing. Brian hates talking in the third person so he is going to knock this shit off right now. Just come to his new party because he is a nice guy can make all the girls go "Whoo!! I love this song!"
