Misspent Youth

Music for those in need of something else.

About Me

MyGen Profile GeneratorUp rooting from the “Home of the Blues” comes Misspent Youth: four guys that believe there is more to music than the popular, radio friendly chart-toppers heard around the world today. Through determination and pure passion these guys created a new genre of music that blends the electric sounds of powerful metal and edgy rock into a cornucopia of musical bliss…something you have to experience to believe.
PAST/PRESENT/FUTURE
On a boring Saturday afternoon in late July of 2004, Justin had an epiphany, a vision, that he was sick and tired of working for the man. He wanted something new, something different, a way to combine his main interests – travel, partying, and music – into something he wouldn’t mind doing for the rest of his life. He knew that Josh was the man to go to because they shared the same interests. Both were tired of the same ol’, watered-down music heard on the radio and they felt that they could bring in a new sound to the Mississippi Delta and to the rest of the world. They got together and recruited Ben and Kyle: this was the beginning of Misspent Youth. Since forming, Misspent Youth has carved their way through annoying neighbors, pushy landlords, and arrogant cops to find their niche in the music industry. They have played with bands such as The Hot New Mexicans, One Reason, The Importance Of Poison, and Recovery Period. After the release of their first EP, Misspent Youth plans to penetrate the ears, hearts, and souls of boys and girls young and old with their pure, unadulterated passion in hopes to provide music to those in need of something else.

Drummer, Justin “Calf Cramp” Allen is the backbone of Misspent Youth with unusual techniques that produce diverse beats he claims he “pulls out of his @$$”.

Backing him up is big man bass man, Ben “shoeshine box” Tubbs, with killer low frequency riffs that, strangely, only the women find stimulating.

Kyle Combs, aka “Master Shredder”, takes lead guitar to a new level: bending notes in ways notes weren’t meant to bend, he man-handles his guitar leaving it begging and screaming in pain for pleasure…much like his women.

Josh “the man with the plan/I’ve got no idea what I’m doing” Howell, mastermind and concocter of this delightful debacle, pleasures the ears of men, women, and children alike with a distinctive, yet uncanny, voice that only a mother could love.
Influences: ladies that like musicians.....or at least those who apear to be musicians
