THE FIRE
 We lost a lot of gear September 2nd in a fire at our practice space. We still don't know how it happened, but most of our stuff was either burned up or water damaged beyond repair. We are accepting donations if anyone would like to help us out. This is only a set-back for us and hasn't changed any of our show dates or plans.

Evolution of the Kill was founded by Lear Mason (vocals/guitar/programming) in Phoenix, AZ in 2008 and includes Mike "Lucky" Gahagan (bass), Carrie Bird (keyboards), and Erik Bishop (drums). Focusing on heavy, down-tuned guitar work, intricate drumming, and an aggressive yet melodic vocal style, Evolution Of The Kill is as outwardly vindictive as it is darkly subversive. The subtle use of piano, synths, and electronic drum loops throughout the songs adds a modern ambiance to this unique blend of rock and metal, while the lyrics cover themes of betrayal, addiction, atheism, and an overall resistance to conformity and complacency. Evolution of the Kill is an exercise in destruction as much as it is an outlet for creation.
In February 2009 the band issued their first release, a four song EP entitled Beautiful In Red EP, featuring songs from the upcoming full length CD expected out in late 2009. The EP is now available on iTunes and Amazon.com. Evolution Of The Kill is currently booking shows in the Phoenix and surrounding area.

Sounds Like: "Evolution Of The Kill is a band with so many elements and influences they have managed to create a sound that is all their own. They are like black, if all the little rock and metal subdivisions are individual colors. It can be hardcore, it can be metal, but Lear's vocals have a dark, melodic style that goes beyond the normal guttural stuff or screaming that you might expect for this heavy of a band. It's brutally beautiful, like a beautiful woman crying mascara tears down her cheek to the corner of her mouth where she has a bloody lip from getting hit. It's brutally beautiful!"
