About Me

Hi, and welcome to my spot at myspace!
I..m a bass player from Tysnes/Norway, currently living in Oslo. I..ve been working pro-like since ..99, and even though I am a band kind-of-guy,- I..m happy to be a traveller in the world of freelancing. My heart probably connects most strongly with profound lyrics and music based upon improvisation, but I love anything that..s true to the moment. And sometimes numbers on a pay check can be
v e r y true ... to ANY moment.
I started out at the age of thirteen, with a three-string Kasuga bass (ahh do not ask) and a Pearl bass-amp (with continous blue smoke rising...a preset, not an optional effect),-just in time to avoid soccer and allmennfaglig. In 1992 I got an Ibanezian girlfriend :) named Soelvi (sr800),- who has taught me a lot about playing bass and is still my dearest one.
As a lance for hire you may find yourself in the strangest situations, and the wonderful variety of gold and greef in music business is overwhelming. Still, one of my greatest experiences so far is this; on a 2-day gig in sumarglade Rosendal..93, the band and I got payed off NOT to return for the second day. A real booster...
Good health to all,-be welcome to send me an invitation or a message!
Some of my current business AND pleasure:
Torun Eriksen
Torun is the finest treasure of Scandinavian souljazz you..ll find. She holds exceptional abilities as a songwriter, and has a stage performance that..ll carve your heart out...in a good way. I..m more than proud to be a part of her band, and to be her closest musical co-worker. And I..m happy to inform you that Torun..s third album is to be recorded in march/april (09), and that we..re very excited... Please visit her site at: www.toruneriksen.no
Bertine Zetlitz
Bertine is the First Lady of Norwegian electropop. She often is named ..Ice Princess.. or ..Ice Queen.., but I promise you,- she..s capable of outglowing and outheating any stagelamp known to man. Since late 2004, I..ve been in the fortunate position of touring and performing with Bertine, in and around Norway. Though she..s having some time off these days, I certainly hope to perform with her soon again. You..ll find her website at: www.bertine.com
Vidar Johnsen/Peter Nordberg
Norwegian-Swedish singer/songwriter collaboration. -Will add more soon. Please visit their homepage (in norwegian only, I..m afraid): www.johnsen-nordberg.com
Wulff
This is one of my oldest, still breathing, musical fellowships. Growing slowly, though. But very soon we will be able to present (proudly) what we have been up to :) Please find the song Better on my playlist; it is the single from our soon-to-be-released album (scheduled for aug09). Hope you will enjoy it!
Wulff is a tender, acoustic-based trio, making pop/country songs, and arranging them carefully in a chamber-music kind of way.
Voc:Tine Wulff
Guitar: Kjell Harald Litangen
Bass: Kjetil Dalland

Mari Boine
Mari is an internationally acclaimed artist of Saami world music. Performing with her has been a huge privilege for me,- enjoyable beyond words. It has also granted me once-in-a-lifetime experiences, like performing at ..The Sziget Festival.. (Budapest) for about 15.000 people, and performing live at Brazilian TV, broadcasted nation wide. However,- like the best chair of any house only is available when the cat is away; being on stage with Mari has only been possible for me as a lucky sub for her regular bass player (and current producer/co-writer). A performer with the deepest calm and the steepest rage,- Chief Trollfoot. Also known as Svein Schultz. More about Mari at:
www.myspace.com/mariboine
In addition to this, and other gigs/projects of different kind and duration, I also teach bass at NISS,- Nordisk Institutt for Scene og Studio, in Oslo. This I appreciate very much,- thanks to inspiring fellow teachers and eager students.
If I find time and power, I will soon add up a discography, and a listing of different artists and band that have made me to... me :)
Thank you for visiting!
All the best
Kjetil
