About Me

First off, yes my name really is "Vlad". In retrospect, calling myself DJ Vlad might have added to the confusion, rather than cleared it up. Currently, I am in charge and DJ at Schadenfreude here in Washington, D.C. I've been DJing for about four years now, holding resendicies also at Chiaroscuro, Purgatorio, and Ambrosia.
I also write for a duo of music magazines - ReGen and Side-Line . In the past I also worked briefly with Virus!, Sick Among the Pure, and Hard Wired (UK), not to mention a three year stint with D.C's own zine, The City Morgue.
Beyond my music geekiness, I also love me some horror movies, enjoy cooking, travelling, running around with my girlfriend, and playng with our cats.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

David Tibet Michael, Hunter S. Thompson, Marilyn Manson, Genesis P-Orridge, Michael Gira, Mick Mercer, Jhonn Balance, David Bowie, Peter Murphy, David Fincher, Neil Gaiman, David Lynch, Carl McCoy, Chuck Palahniuk, H.P. Lovecraft, Anthony Bourdain

Post-club tiredness

Quite tired today - it's been a wee bit since I did a closing set. Exposure was fun last night, but for some reason, my spinning was very much one of those nights where I just worked "the hits". On on...
