About Me

Kenisha Jada Williams is a virtuous young woman who is striving for a positive change in the lives of young people and also a roll-model to many. Throughout her primary school years at sacred Heart in Dangriga she would always enthusiastically participate in stage shows and plays seeing that her leadership quality came naturally to her. In her teenage years she served as counselor for youth for the future Dangriga branch. In 2005 she was elected as a delegate and serve as youth officer for the Stann creek District. Along with Felene Cayetano, Ifasina Efunuwemi and Ansel Diego, Kenisha was a host to the poetry show ‘what’s the word’ which residents of Dangriga waited patiently to hear every Wednesday night on Hamalali radio 90.7 fm. Through her stage performance at pageants, schools, talent shows, weddings ext. she carries out her inspirational words to others. Presently Kenisha is an active member of Belize poet society and serves as cheer person for the public relations and also a member of MORPH GENERATION (a youth group that promote higher level of positive living and character building founded by Melvin Diego). Her love and passion for poetry lives on for she believes that through her poetry lives will be transformed in a positive way.Kenisha is the only girl of 5 children. She grew up with her loving grandmother Corsina Augustine Moreira. Childhood wasn’t easy for her because of her experiences she said that she was forced to grow up faster than she should. Kenisha received her early education at Benguche pre-school, sacred heart primary school and after graduated from there received a 4 years scholarship from sister Judith Bariel to attend Delille Academy (A Christian high school founded by the sisters of the holy family). During her years at high school she served as secretary for student council and also won the first place Gale Mandell PHD trophy for first place in a poetry contest among the entire students body. Kenisha was academically brilliant also for she made the honor role each year and in forth form came in the top three. Kenisha dream was to graduated as the valedictorian but was still in the midst of the stars and did the third place vote of thanks address which earned her a scholarship to Ecumenical sixth form. Kenisha also believes in giving back so presently she is working at her old high school as a full time librarian and substitute teacher.Kenisha is the proud daughter of Althea Lorenzo and Felix Williams. She has 4 brothers namely, Delroy Cecil Caliz and baby Joe R.I.P, Steven Lino and Angel Francis Caliz. Her cousin Patricia Rose Arzu Cochrin played the role of her sister while coming up. Besides her grandmother Mrs. Corsina she was also parented by Cynthia Ellis Topsy, Sally and Quamie Asufurafu who she is grateful to. In a recent interview when asked who she wanted to thank she said and I’ll quote, “If I should starts thanking all those who have been there for me it would take forever, for a lot of people have been there for me so far in my life so to everyone who have helped to make my road a lot easier to walk, I say thanks and I love you all.”
