He quickly developed a strong passion for music and became increasingly interested in jazz. In High School, Shaun played in all school enesembles which included Jazz Bands, Marching Band, Wind Ensemble and Orchestra. During the summers, Shaun spent his time at various summer camps such as the National High School Music Institute at Northwestern, and the Summer Brubeck Jazz Colony.After High School, Shaun continued his music studies at New School University in New York City where he studied with Amir Ziv and Ari Hoenig. After a year in New York Shaun transfered to Arizona State University. After two years at ASU, Shaun was playing in steady groups which included Moseyhorse, Jiggle, and Inner Journey's Trio. By 2009 Shaun was a steady playing drummer on the local Phoenix music scene.In the spring of 2009 Shaun graduated from ASU, and by the fall he moved to the East Bay. Currently residing in Berkeley California, Shaun continues his professional career as a musician and educator and is a member of three steady groups which include Blind Mice, Anna Ash, and Alice Tong.Shaun Lowecki has had the pleasure of playing with Joan Hickey, Mike Kocour, Dennis Carrol, Nicholas Payton, Jerry Bergonzi, Hans Sturm, Dwight Killian, Bob Ravenscroft, Ted Sistrunk, Brion Ruth, Scott Zimmer, Moseyhorse, Jiggle, Inner Journeys, Doug Stuart, Drew Brown, Scott Brown, Greg Lindgren, Reuben Allen, Woody Goss, Sam Decker, Chris Goranson, Dan Pierson.Some of the great teachers Shaun has studied with include: Dana Hall, Joel Spencer, Kobie Watkins, Glenn Kotche, Dom Moio, Amir Ziv, Ari Hoenig, Jim Barclay, Don Shupe, Jeremy Marino, Tom Destlov.
