Red Glory

About Me

Red Glory formed in 2004 with Sue & Steff in the original line up of a 4 piece band writing/performing their own songs. There were many changes over the next two years, including a change of drummer and the addition of keyboards which, in turn, were replaced with a second guitar in 2005. This gave the material a more rock/indie feel... although it still sounded pretty darn funky.
The band had a measure of success but the urge to play live on a more regular basis took a grip, so, in 2006 a decision was taken to perform covers in between gigs of original songs. Popularity proved to be the incentive to move away from the original material and Red Glory has evolved into a highly rated covers band.
2008 brought about two new changes to the line-up with Steve on bass and Dan on drums. A special thanks goes out to Rob, our stand-in drummer as well as John & Tim, the bassists who depped for us.
About the members:
Steff : Has a unique voice with the power and versatility to cover either gender and any genre or style. Her stage presence gets the crowd going and she thrives on interacting with the audience. Dress sense is second to none with a huge wardrobe similar to the one found in Narnia. She also has a passion for dance music and is known in the world of DJ'ing too.
Sue : Plays the occasional bit of lead but is predominantly the rhythm guitarist. She plays this with less effort than Elvis eating a cheeseburger and a string rake speed faster than the wings of a hummingbird. A real perfectionist down to the smallest detail and the driving force behind the band.
Tony : An experienced bassist who is the newest member of the band. His easy going nature and enthusiasm for perfectionism is a valuable addition to the band. Watch out for his funky bass solos and galloping triplets!
Pete : Lead guitarist who wows the crowd with his solos and adds another dimension to the rhythm section. Although in the twilight of his years, he looks young enough to own a paper round (downhill obviously). With a memory worse than a goldfish, he has to refer to numerous instructions lovingly handwritten on his set list.
Dan : A proficient drummer with heaps of experience & also provides great backing vocals. His talents don't end there; Dan can play guitar & bass too! He comes alive behind one of his 3 kits and apart from being able to play any style, he sets an accurate tempo and keeps perfect timing.
