About Me
J Chris got his start in radio as a junior in High School in 1994 from Gospel Radio Great in Savannah, Lester Leck White. After leaving for college in Atlanta and living in Jacksonville Florida, he came back to work for the same station, E-93, under the very wise Sam Nelson in 2001 as a morning show producer/personality for the Doug Banks Morning Show, and Saturday Night Mixshow host. During this time, J Chris was taken under the wings of nationally syndicated radio personlaity, Doug Banks. In 2004, he moved to Macon Georgia to work at Blazin 92.3 under the great Commisioner, B. Paiz, as a night personality and production director. After one year in Macon, J Chris moved back to Savannah to work again for E-93 in the same position when he left. J Chris was let go by E-93 in February 2008(thanks) and in June 2008, was hired by Qantum Communications-Myrtle Beach South Carolina as Program Director and Midday Personality for their Urban AC format, WQSD-FM-Q107.1. After a little over a 7 month ride at Qantum Communications, the company dissolved the station and decided to go into another direction, but in April of 2009, J Chris joined Straightway Communications-Tampa Florida as Asst. Program Director/Production Director/Radio Personality for their Urban AC radio station, WTMP-AM-1150 and 96.1-FM(Thanks again GOD!!). During his journey, J Chris became one of the hottest club Hypemen and host throughout the Southeast, therefore earning the Moniker, The Prince of Hype. J Chris attended Morris Brown College in Atlanta and majored in Music Industry. J Chris is also an accomplished actor and singer. He has performed in many productions such as The Wiz(Scarecrow), Jesus Christ Superstar(Judas Iscariot), The Piano Lesson(Lymon), To Kill A Mockingbird(Tom Robinson), and GODSPELL(Stephen Jesus), just to name a few. J Chris believes in giving back to the community, therefore he has a non-profit organization called The J Chris Foundation where he mentors young African American males(elementary and middle schools), to be real men. Even with all of this going on, he still found time for a inspirational gospel music tour called the "All Is Not Lost Tour" which features some of the best young gospel music artists in the area. Also in October of 2008, J Chris was named a member of the one of the most recognized and biggest fraternity of DJ's throughout the world, The Core DJ's Worldwide, a organization of some of the hottest DJ's across the world!
