About Me

Since its publication in January 2005, BOOK OF MEMORY: A RASTAFARI TESTIMONY - a Jamaican elder Rasta's spiritual autobiography - has been met with praise from readers and critics in the USA, Caribbean and Europe. In his own voice Prince Elijah Williams tells of his life and community, weaving personal narrative with visionary spiritual insight. BOOK OF MEMORY explores Rasta philosophy from Selassie and spirituality to ital nutrition and post-colonial resistance. The book is the fruition of seven years of interviewing and editing by Michael Kuelker, a teacher, writer and human rights activist living in St. Louis. He established CaribSound Ltd., which unveiled its first project in 2003: COMMUNICATION DRUMS, a nyahbinghi drumming album by Prince Tebah and the Sons of Thunder of Mt. Salem, Jamaica.See www.CaribSound.com for free excerpts, interviews, photos and more. The first printing of BOOK OF MEMORY is nearly sold out, although a few copies remain available at Amazon.com, ebreggae.com, vintagevinyl.com and other independent book stores and culture shops. In Jamaica, contact Novelty Trading Company for outlets on the island selling BOOK OF MEMORY[[email protected]].BOOK OF MEMORY will see a new cover and added content with the next printing, expected in 2008.
