Biography
Born in Geneva in 1980, I raised in a jazz impregnated family universe and I've been interested at a very young age to the role of the bass in music.
After a few years of studying music basics at the "CPM", Geneva, I followed private electric bass lessons for a couple of years. In 1995 I starded a funkrock band project with 3 of my friends, whitch played for fast ten years.
During that period, in 1997, when I was asked to join a traditional jazz band run by my father René Hagmann, I began learning the double-bass as an autodidacte. I played in this band until he stopped in 2004.
From 2004, Being very intersted in both instruments and feeling an attraction to improvised music, I gained experience by working in a number of different musical contexts ranging from classical acoustic jazz to electric music.
In 2006, feeling the wish to improve my music understanding and my technique, I began the Swiss Jazz School (Jazz Conservatory) in Bern.
