Amir Marcus Biography: Born on November 29, 1980.
It was obvious from a very young age that Amir had a great musical sense and an amazing musical ear. His 4th grade math teacher was the one who first discovered his musical gift when she sat down with him at her piano and he began to play. At the age of 14, Marcus started composing music for a rock band that he produced, and during that time he decided to explore and compose music of another genre - Electronic. Well, it didn't take long for Marcus to earn quite a reputation in both the Rock and Electronic music scenes. At the age of 18, Marcus joined the Navy. But don't think for a second that this hindered his musical creativity. Upon fulfillment of the debt to his country, Marcus closed his first deal with GMI Records and released his first Cd entitled Online in September of 2000 in association with Eyal Barkan. In 2001, Marcus played music sets in Radio 99ESC for about a year and in September of 2001, he released his second CD entitled VIP on Black Hole Records in association with Eyal Barkan and a vinyl entitled "All My Life". In 2002, Marcus fulfilled his contract with GMI and was then hired to produce An amazing opera singer "Vik", and with this new addition to his repertoire, Marcus was no longer locked into the Electronic and Rock genres and was forced to change his style of music to "World Music". 2003 was the year that Marcus temporarily set down his musical pen, so to speak, and went to work as a sound engineer for theatrical shows, In November of that year, Marcus joined a delegation of actors and singers, touring various US cities such as Chicago, Boston, New York and Los Angeles. In 2004 he made the acquaintance of a man by the name of Solomon Franco and together they shared the same vision of "EXM - Exclusive Music", That same year, Vik's album won the award for Best World Music in www.ClickSpin.com. Marcus was also produced Soundtracks for commercial clips of "Microheat" (www.microheat.com), Mighty Key (www.mightykey.com), Insight Moto (www.insightmoto.com) and also working with cellular companies to compose over 1,500 ring tones and two songs for Dana International (Eurovision winner in 98 with the hit DIVA) "Kiss Your Money Bye Bye" and "Sleeping With Me" both of which were huge hits in the clubs. In September 2006 Marcus released a song feat Kay entitled "If I Will Let You Go" on the "Evita: Special Hits Vol.2" compilation which was a charity project to help underprivileged children... Others artists involved with this compilation included many other headliner DJ/producers such as Offer Nissim, Dj Vic, Tomer G, and Mike Cruz. With this kind of experience, knowledge and talent under his belt, there's no telling what boundaries and records this talented musical force named Amir Marcus will break in his bright and promising future.
