Jose Palmer

My name is Jose and I play the electric Bass. I am originally from Valencia--La Costa Mediterranea, and recently moved from San Francisco to Los Angeles. I have been playing the Bass for fifteen years and am focusing on developing a repertoire of fusion styles: blues, rock, jazz, latin, flamenco, funk. I have studied at the Conservatory de Valencia on Slide Trombone, focusing on Music Theory. I have also studied at the Berkeley Jazz School and the San Francisco Community Music Center with Chus Alonso. In 2008, I received a grant to study at the Los Angeles Music Academy, a professional music academy located in Pasadena, CA. In addition to electric bass, I also sing backup vocals and play stand-up bass. My playing curriculum includes live performances with Marco Reyes and Sal Rodrigues of WAR, Graham Foster from England, and auditions with Tony Perez, the pianist of Arturo Sandoval.
