I've met lots of interesting people in my life, like Prince, Michael Cain, Luther Vandross, Yolanda Adams, Sly Stone, Sheila E, Delta Burke, "Spider," Jimmy Jam, Jody Watley, Barry Gordy, Wendy & Lisa, Governor Bill Clinton & others. I am blessed to have met many gifted, talented & anointed people that I love & respect - doctors, artists, pastors authors, mothers, teachers & friends. The meetings I value most are the ones that led to true friendships. I also enjoyed meeting that sweet lady at the Sheraton in downtown L.A, so many years ago. She would play her husband's old songs on the piano for me & tell me the stories behind them. She would tell me how much she loved him & he loved her & how she "missed him from morning to night." I wish I had gone to visit her sooner... I wish I had been wiser then... I'm thankful for my parents & my family. My children are my greatest joy. I long to talk to my grandmothers & I miss my brother & his family.
Mostly, I'm thankful that I met Jesus - the ultimate friend. Now, I would like to meet his mother, Mary, as well as, Tyler Perry, President Bush, Mother Teresa, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Rev Run & Joe Simpson - I have questions for all of them!! There are several songwriters I would be honored to colab with. I'd also like to hang out with Tim Gunn, from Project Runway, & Kimora Lee Simmons... what can I say?
