Bootleg Blues

BOOTLEG BLUES was formed in year 2001 in Belgrade, Serbia. The band plays a mixture of acoustic blues, traditional jazz, soul and new acoustic music. The band is known for its excellent live and innovative performance, original repertoire, choice of traditional instruments an, individual and band quality. Bootleg Blues’s lead vocal Dragana Mickovic is considered to be one of the best and most original female vocals on the Serbian music scene. Band’s repertoire consists of source material and traditional blues (played in original manner). Since its very beginnings, the band received excellent revues, both from the music critics and from the public, especially for its excellent live performance. In February 2003, the band released its first album (recorded live in a studio) “Bootleg Blues”. The album was presented on major radio and TV stations all over the world including EU, USA and Canada, Israel and received excellent revues. The band appeared live in numerous TV and radio shows including four exclusive documentaries made by the Serbian National Television (RTS) and broadcasts of live performances from festivals and concerts. The tracks from the CD were also used for radio and TV commercials and shows. Bootleg Blues performed on all major international blues/jazz/rock festivals in Serbia and abroad with great success. Festival performances include EXIT 04 and EXIT 05(the biggest music festival in this part of Europe) as Blues Stage “star act”, “International Street Festival” in Veszprem, Hungary in 2004 as main act, “Voxstock Blues Festival 2004” in Belgrade, “Pancevo Blues Festival” in 2003 and 2004, “Sabac Blues Festival 2003”… The band also played in most of the blues/jazz/rock clubs and held concerts all over Serbia with great success.Since January 2004, the band formed a 12 piece gospel choir for live performances on blues festivals and concerts
