CHIA (Lucia Oles)

About Me

If there is one name that is synonymous with Australian hard dance, a name that conjures up smiles from many dance-floor fanatics… it would be that of DJ Chia. Her sheer determination and talent has led Chia to develop a strong following throughout the nation…turning her into the exciting performer she is today, delivering her trademark sounds to dance floors across Australia.
Chia’s first release was collaboration with DJ Yoshi called “Turn To Dust” and signed to Billy Daniel Bunters label X-Ite. From there she made her UK debut mainstage at “TASTY” @ Mass in London and while there, collaborated on two tracks with Nu Energy Collective guru K Complex. “Say Yes” and “Lost In Music” were both released early 2006 on K Complex label Science Fabric Digital and both tracks stayed in the Trackitdown.net top ten charts for several weeks. Chia’s productions have appeared on compilations including Billy Daniel Bunters “Total Hard Dance” and “Enigma Records Volume 3”. Her next release due is “Enjoy This Trip” signed by French label Armand music for their DJETTE compilation and released worldwide in February 2007.
Based in Auckland / New Zealand as of January 2007, Chia’s roots lie in Brisbane / Australia where she worked her way up the ranks before being headhunted to become the new resident at Sydney’s Gas Nightclub. Over the past 7 years Chia has played at major Australian events including: Slinky, Frantic, Transmission, Advent’jah, System 6 and Sunbeats. A regular on the Australian nightclub circuit Chia has played every major Australian city, rocking dance floors at Family, Bass Station, Hard Kandy, Earth, Rise, Bubble and The Beat…. not to mention her Sydney residencies at Progress @ Gas, Daydreams, Plastic and WanteD.
Chia has played alongside many of the worlds finest including Marco V, John 00 Fleming, K90, Nick Sentience, James Lawson, Lab 4, Ed Real, Andy Farley, Billy Daniel Bunter, Alphazone, Oliver Klitzing, Dave Lee, Anne Savage, Kevin Energy, Matt Darey, Vinylgroover…the list keeps going…!
Chia’s attitude is “no hype – just quality tunes”, and having accomplished so much at such a young age, the future is only bright for this young dynamo.
