RENOVATIONS ARE COMPLETE! THE TRUE LOVE COFFEEHOUSE IS OPEN! OPEN MIC IS BACK! EVERY TUESDAY AT 7:45 PM!
But Enought About Me... About The True Love Coffeehouse:
The True Love Coffeehouse originally opened on J Street in February of 2001.
Matt The Bastard took over the host position of the
Open Mic Plus in June of 2003 and won
TWO News And Review Best Of Sacramento awards for
Best Open Mic, until the coffeehouse lost their lease and was forced to close in September of 2004.
The NEW True Love Coffeehouse opened in November 2006 one block from the old location, and the
Open Mic Plus started back up in January of 2007 with host
Matt The Bastard back in the driver's seat. And in 2007, we
AGAIN won the
News And Review Best Of Sacramento award for
Best Open Mic! So come on down and check us out, and see we're #1!
The best way to contact Matt The Bastard or the Open Mic Plus is to send a MySpace message, but you can also send an email to
[email protected] and we'll get back to you eventually.

Who Can Be A Performer?
Anyone and everyone can be a performer at the
The True Love Coffeehouse Open Mic PLUS!... Musicians, comedians, poets... if you can do it on stage (get yer filthy mind out of the gutter) you can do it on
OUR STAGE!
PERFORMERS FROM OUT OF TOWN: Please CHECK IN with Matt The Bastard prior to the ticket lottery and we will do our best to accommodate you!
A Few Simple Rules:
1. NO COVER SONGS. Sorry, but we are serious hard-asses on this one. Original material only, please.
2. NO DRUMS of any kind. If it's bigger than a tambourine, don't bother to bring it.
3. Two weeks on, one week off. We ask that if you have been selected to perform two weeks in a row that you voluntarily sit out the third week to allow other performers the opportunity to be selected.
4. Please respect our 1-purchase minimum. Is it really that much to ask that you support the place that supports you?
