Mank is one of hip hop's most anticipated young southern rappers, producer, songwriter and a future Music/Entertainment Mogul. Florida has always contributed to the hip hop culture by producing southern hit maker like Uncle Luke, 2 Live Crew, Trick Daddy, 69 Boys, 95 South, Pretty Ricky, Pitbull, Flo-Rida, T-Pain, Plies, Rick Ross, Trina, and now Florida has given birth to Dat Boi Mank.
This Florida born and bread rapper has already started to build a volcanic street buzz that is patently rising to it's eruption. Mank is definitely creating a name for himself as on of the hottest in the game and one of the youngest in charge.
Born I. "Mank" Caldwell, He grew up in Jacksonville, Florida in the County of Duval. Raised in an area full of hard heads and hard times the Florida bread youngblood soon became a product of his environment. His family made a big move to South Central California, which only put him in a different ghetto in America. "Everybody got a hustle right, well for me it was music" Mank says.
Mank soon found himself in a position to produce and record demos for many up and coming local artist. The next step was getting educated about this industry, which he did. Form the studio to the corporate side of the music hustle, this Florida rapper learned as much as he can. At 18 Mank build and launched his on recording studio (Majik Touch Muzic).
Influenced from other Florida legends and the industry hottest rappers and producers, Mank worked hard to perfect his skills. Mank soon embarked on a side journey, acting, which paved alot of the way and made opportunities for Mank to rap on stage in front of hundreds of people as a solo unsigned artist.
In 2006 Mank got a chance to go on tour for the first time in his life as a "Jail House Rapper/Actor" in a young urban hard knock life stage musical called "U Don't Know Me". "Man, seeing all of those people night after night yelling and screaming after I performed..... the feeling u get.......... theres nothing in the world like it", Mank says. That tour was a short lived one and by 2007 Mank was back to local performances.
In December 2007 Mank was asked to tour the country yet again but not as a rapper or actor, but as a Manager for Tyler Perry's Stage Plays. He tour the U.S. & Canada for a year and a half. Now in 2009, Mank is doing it bigger than ever wit his explosive street singles “Dey He Iz (Supa Dupa Swagg)†which is a dance/club track that glorifies the super swagg appeal of himself. “I Know You See Meâ€, & “Supermodelâ€.
